The Museum holds an impressive collection of artifacts from the War of 1812, the largest public collection of Niagara Falls souvenir china in Ontario, and a large collection of historic artwork of Niagara Falls.

Built as a home in the 1820's, this building has been a fixture on the Niagara Falls Landscape for nearly 200 years. Restored as a Tavern from the 1850's period, the Battle Ground Hotel offers visitors guided tours of the period rooms, illustrating the heyday of tourism to the 1812 Battlefield at Lundy's Lane.

The flow of water was stopped completely over the Horseshoe Falls in 1848, due to an ice jam in the upper river for several hours.
